Reading Fun - Plays

As it is the last week of term we thought it would be a great idea to get creative and perform some plays in Reading.

After looking at all the plays as a class, we selected our groups and chose a play we really wanted to perform (some were so popular we had to have a paper, scissors, rock challenge to find the winners). Lucky our groups all chose their two favorite plays at the start, so no one missed out!

Today we quietly read through the plays individually and then each group had to negotiate the parts.  We then had our first read through as a group.

Over the next few days we will practice performing the play, think about making or sourcing props and finally perform it to the class on Thursday.

The children are very excited!  Stay tuned for updates on our progress!

Congratulations to the following children for winning the class certificates.

Callum, for your artistic flair, attention to detail, and vibrant colour choices on your vivid and pastel octopus.  It wouldn't look out of place in the Auckland Art Gallery.

Anastasia, for your enthusiasm and creative ideas you've bought to the collaborative planning process this week.

Also - a huge congratulations to the children in our class who participated in the Term One Year 5/6 Lunchtime Sports Tee-Ball Competition and WON!!!!!!

Looks like ice-cream all round for you guys tonight!

Mind Lab Science Trip

What could be more fun than making a mess?!

Making cheese, making slime = complete mess  = a total blast with the added bonus of learning so much!  

Thanks to the children of Room 21 for really getting into this trip and making the most of the opportunity.  You guys are an amazing class!
