Marimba Concert

We love surprises!  Today the Year 6's were invited to a special Marimba concery with the Years 3-5 children.  We had no idea what Marimba was initially, but we are so glad we know now!  What a talented bunch of musicians!

The 'Kids Music Company' performed a beautiful array of instrumental songs.  This company has multiple international awards in educational music.  The children in the band come from all over Auckland - including Titirangi, Dairy Flat,  Mount Albert, Birkenhead and Takapuna.  They are aged from 7 - 13 years.

There were a variety of wood, metal and wind instruments - and the children could play ALL of them (that's right - ALL of them - so talented).  The coolest instrument had to be the Bass Marimba which was made of wood and pipes (drainage pipes) to make it resonate.

It was an amazing opportunity and we'd like to thank Mrs Sinclair for organising this for our school.

Anyone with a musical background can join the group and if you're interested please go and see Mrs Sinclair for more information.
